SAMIA HENNI ARCHITECT CONTACT SAMIA HENNI is an Algerian-French-Swiss architect and researcher based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. She began her studies in architecture and urbanism in 1997 at the École Polytechnique d’Architecture et d’Urbanisme in Algiers, Algeria. In 1998 she was awarded a Swiss scholarship and began her studies at the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, Switzerland, where she obtained her Master's Degree in 2004. Between 2000 and 2004 she collaborated with several architecture offices in Switzerland and was invited to participate in various international workshops. In 2002 she was the assistant to the artist Luciano Fabro for an art project in the Eastern Docklands, Java Island, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In 2004 she won a competition and soon after established her independent practice in architecture. She also cofounded a platform for contemporary art and architecture, at which she has co-curated exhibitions and debates. In 2009 she began a postgraduate at the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In 2010 she received a grant to be the research assistant of Prof. Thomas A P Van Leeuwen, for the project 'Plans and Platitudes', at the Berlage Institute. She is currently editing a publication on global urbanization processes, based on interviews with several eminent professionals.
